Three days on BWT's stand in Lagos

Stand 2B13 in the Austrian pavilion carried two names: ASE Consultings x BWT. For three days, 23 to 25 September 2025, it was ours to run. We were there for BWT, the water treatment group from Mondsee. Big 5 Construct Nigeria was in its fifth edition, held in the Landmark Centre on Water Corporation Road, Victoria Island Annex.

To us, the fair was three days inside a longer partnership. We are a BWT Partner for Nigeria, designing and delivering on BWT water treatment. Our Lagos team carries that work into projects across West Africa, and in Lagos itself we design water treatment for estates. As a firm, we have an Austrian lineage that goes back to 2003 and a West African one from 2015.

Contractors, developers and distributors came to the stand. We took them through BWT's water treatment range. Around us were other Austrian companies, in a pavilion organised by ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Lagos, the commercial section of the Austrian Embassy. A programme of certified talks ran alongside the exhibition, on subjects from project management to sustainable materials. The show's organiser, dmg events, bills Big 5 Construct Nigeria as the country's largest event for construction professionals. Citing its knowledge partner ABiQ, it puts Nigeria's construction market at 108 billion dollars.

One evening during the fair, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA brought its exhibitors and local construction contacts together over dinner, and we joined the table. Fairs in Lagos, like fairs anywhere, do half their work after the halls close.

In the weeks that followed, between late September and early November, we kept up conversations with six of the companies we had met at the fair. ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Lagos later wrote to BWT that the stand had been well looked after and had made many new contacts. That, for us, is what a stand is for.
