Building and sharing at Geneva’s Vibe Coding workshop

Our trip to Geneva was not on the calendar. It came together at short notice and took in CERN, and it left us in the city on the evening of 14 September 2026. We used it to join a workshop at Impact Hub Geneva, on Rue Fendt, part of Swiss AI Weeks.

Its title was "Vibe Coding x ODD: initiation à l'IA pour PME", a practical first encounter with AI aimed at small and medium-sized firms. Vibe coding means describing what you want in plain language and letting an AI tool write the software. The listing asked for no programming background, only a laptop, and the session ran in French and English. Impact Hub Geneva organised it in collaboration with XpertIA, PanoramIA/SAND and Young AI Leaders.

Inside, the room had the look of a working space: exposed cable trays, industrial lanterns, tall windows and parquet floors. A welcome slide for Swiss AI Weeks glowed at the front, with Impact Hub roll-up banners beside it. Rows of white tables held open laptops, and attendees turned toward whoever was speaking. As the organisers described it, the evening was built around small groups, each using AI tools to build a prototype around a real business challenge. It closed with an apéro and a round of live feedback on what each group had made.

We took part in the workshop and presented, sharing a few insights with the English-speaking attendees. The exchange felt close to our own work: our software practice builds websites and internal tools for the firms we advise, and AI-assisted development is changing how quickly a first version can take shape. An evening spent trying it side by side was time well spent.
