A Parliament tour, then an evening with Vienna's property trade

Half past three on a September afternoon, and we were at the visitor entrance of the Austrian Parliament on Dr Karl Renner-Ring, waiting for a guided tour. For about 85 minutes a guide took us through Theophil Hansen's building, which rose between 1874 and 1883 and reopened in 2023 after its general renovation. Then we went up to the third floor. KELSEN, the Parliament's restaurant and events venue, takes its name from Hans Kelsen, author of the Austrian federal constitution. There the networking began at five.

We had come for the third edition of the Wiener Immobilien Club, and we had come with company: Aberger Software, from Hagenberg. Its key.fit platform handles memberships and billing. Our own aim was simple: meet property developers and construction companies. Developers decide how a building gets its water, power and controls, and those are the things we advise on. Our desks are in Vienna and Lagos. We also build operating software for the firms that own and run such buildings, from websites to internal tools.

Wiener Branding, a local agency, runs the club as a quarterly after-work format for the city's property trade, aimed at developers and brokers. It promises "Austausch ohne Taktung", exchange without a rigid timetable. Its first edition ran in March 2026, also at KELSEN. Tickets include Austrian finger food and, by the organiser's account, table-side magic. Photographs from the night are in the gallery of LEADERSNET, the club's media partner. A named partner leads every engagement we take on, from the first site visit to handover, so we go to evenings like this ourselves. The club's organiser says the property business "ist und bleibt ein Kontaktsport": it is, and remains, a contact sport. That premise suits us.
