We spent 19 to 21 June 2024 on the stand of SolarKit, the Budapest-based distributor, at Messe München, where the company ran product demonstrations. The show was Intersolar Europe, which calls itself the world's leading exhibition for the solar industry.
SolarKit was our client. Through 2024 and 2025 we ran its business development in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. That work meant building the channel and minding key accounts, and a fair is where both begin. We work from a desk in Vienna, inside that market, and solar sits in our energy practice. One of our partners led the engagement from start to finish.
Intersolar shares its dates and halls with three sister exhibitions, for storage, e-mobility and energy management. Together they form The smarter E Europe, which the organiser calls Europe's largest alliance of exhibitions for the energy industry. When the doors closed, the four shows together had counted about 110,000 visitors and just over 3,000 exhibitors. Of all that, our own patch was small: one stand and three days.
Talks on the Intersolar Forum stage covered large plants and floating photovoltaics, and an agri-photovoltaic exhibit stood in the outdoor area. Stefan Wenzel, Parliamentary State Secretary at Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, toured the show and said that "we already have the technology for a 100 percent renewable energy supply". Visitors from well outside the trade came too: former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the actor Cate Blanchett were both at the show that week.
In under a year of our work, SolarKit's monthly sales grew from under 100,000 euros to more than 270,000, as our track record sets out. Munich was one of the places that work was done. In September we exhibited with SolarKit again, this time at MOS in Celje, in Slovenia, where the company keeps a warehouse.
