For five September days our address at the Celje fairground was stand K-22, in Hall K, the fair's equipment, energy and digitalisation section. There we exhibited with SolarKit, a photovoltaic distributor, from 18 to 22 September 2024, showing Huawei inverters, storage systems and Tongwei panels from its range.
Business development for SolarKit brought us to the stand. The engagement sat within our energy practice, which covers solar, battery and backup power. SolarKit calls itself a distributor built by installers. It started in 2016 and keeps its headquarters in Budapest. Its Slovenian stock sits in a warehouse in Hoče. A fair in Celje put the range in front of buyers in the same country.
Around us, the rest of the fair went about its business. Its organiser, Celjski sejem, calls MOS the largest business and trade fair event in Slovenia and the wider region. Ahead of the 2024 edition it announced 650 exhibitors showing more than 1,100 brands. Slovenian minister Matjaž Han opened the fair at an economic forum, "Povezani za prihodnost", connected for the future. MOS ran under the slogan "Skočite iz okvirjev", jump out of the box. OZS, the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia, is its traditional co-organiser. Solar also had a hall of its own: in the home section, Hall L was given over to solar power plants and heat pumps.
Three months earlier we had exhibited with SolarKit at Intersolar Europe in Munich, where it ran product demonstrations for an international audience. Celje was a different room. This was a mixed trade and consumer fair, where energy shared the halls with the home, tourism and technology. New that year were Business Days, for networking, deal-making and talks. MOS, as its organiser describes it, is a place for partnerships and direct contact with buyers. For a distributor with a warehouse in the country, that is the right crowd.
